Care for Some Randomnocity?
Phew! Classes are FINALLY over!!! Finals until Thursday.. Then 6 weeks for Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm less stressed now, with finals right around the corner, than I have been all semester. Funny. Please tell me I'm not the only one this happens to..
Well, maybe I'm lying. This week alone, I've completely forgotten about and had to reschedule to VERY important meetings.
It looks like another post where I have little to say but have time to post.
Oh! Next semster, I'm taking a canoe building class. I'll be posting some about that (with pictures!) over the next few months. Yay!
By the way, "randomnocity" is NOT a real word. If you say that in the presence of mildly intelligent people, they WILL look at you like you're an idiot.
Looking Forward to the End and Preparing for a Beginning
Well, 2 weeks left of the semester. I'm making final presentations, writing final paper, and studying for final exams. Lots of stress, but no more work for the semester, so that's good. I'm ready for the semster to end and for the 6 week Christmas vacation. At the same time, I'm already stressed about my 10 classes and my job for next semester.
Oh! Speaking of my job.. I was offered a different job last night. It's still on campus, but it's a completely different job. I'd care about the work and get to work with students instead of having staff and faculty yelling at me on a daily basis. Maybe next year. I have already committed to next semster in my current job. (Last week, mind you. If only I'd waited..)
Alright, I need to read the rest of a book and acknowledge that my friend and roommate are sitting in my room. See ya!

Clueless or Mindless?
I have this insane amount of free time this evening and felt like I should post. The only problem is that I'm not sure what to talk about.
The soccer season ended recently. It's amazing how much more I get to see my friends now. :D I missed them. They tell me that they missed having me on the sideline, but I enjoyed having the time for other things.
My all-time favorite quote comes from TruTV, formerly CourtTV. My roommate and I watch almost nothing else, so we hear this one a lot. We still haven't managed to hear it without repeating it in a clearly mocking tone of voice. "It sounds like you have a personal vindictive against me." I mean, seriously, how can you not be cracking up right now?? We get a huge kick out of it.
I know I've said nothing of any sunstance, but I appreciate you listening anyway. That's why I have the "Random" category for my posts. After about noon, my brain begins to shut down.

What's Next?
Wow, guys. I'm sorry it's been so long since I've written. I haven't had a moment to myself since I wrote that last post - in August!
Since then, so much has happened. I've dropped one of my majors. I've helped my roommate through a rough break-up. and I've started seeing the school psychologist on a regular basis. I don't know what I was thinking, taking 20 hours, having a job, and attempting to have a life. It's impossible; take it from me.
I don't really have too much to say, but BigD has been giving me a hard time about posting.
As the semester comes to a close, I'm getting a little excited about next semester but also a little disappointed about the end of this semester. I've really enjoyed my classes. So many of my friends are graduating next semester that I almost don't want it to come.
The Freshmen Arrive
Oh my gosh, guys. I've been at school for the past week to help with the orientation of the new students. That includes freshmen and transfer students. It's been a crazy week of planning,, meetings, running around, and pretending to like some certain person who happened to be my awful roommate from last year.
So..with 5 days of no sleep under my belt, I got up bright and early yesterday to help the newbies check in. I, with the other staff members, spent the next 5 hours sitting at a check-in desk. After that, we performed a skit to introduce ourselves to the new students. Finally, we played games and had ice cream.
Today has been just as crazy. We started as early as yesterday and got right to it. I had to drive 30 minutes to pick up one of the rental 13-passanger vans. When I got back, I had to devour lunch in order to drive people to our "Save the River" service project. Later we had another meeting. Then I had to drive students to where we were having dinner.
A Little Morning Update
So I finally got my award letter from school. It's a huge relief to know what I can and ... can't afford. After all that stress, though, I've still decided to hold off on getting a car. I'd be in a better financial position next summer. Seems like the way to go.
Gotta run a kid to summer school.

Am I Alone??? and more
So we've all learned by now that I'm not very good at writing regularly. Well, sorry about that. I'm like that with phone calls and e-mails too. I stay way to busy to have time to do all this stuff. I do these when I have the time and the energy at the same time.
I told you I'd tell you about camp. Not much to tell really. 9 of us went. We ate terrible food, climbed .25 mile up hill with 3 flights of stairs every time we wanted to go back to our campsite, and did some cool stuff like whitewater rafting and canoeing, caving and rock climbing, and low and high ropes courses. It was a good trip, but I don't think I'll be going to camp next year. Since I didn't have a ob this summer, I really, really need to have one next summer.
Since I have a moment now between driving kids to summer school and going to the dentist, I'm going to take a second to share a story. My goal, honestly, is to know that I'm not alone in this situation, that it happens to other people too...
A New Phase for Soccer Chica and soccerchica.com
Hey there, all!
I'm still learning my way around the new site. I really like the layout. We had to take off the AIM application; it was slowing things down a lot.
Alright, so now that most of the transformation of soccerchica.com is finished, I'm going to pick up where I left off. I'll get back to writing every now and then.
I'm leaving for camp tomorrow morning. I won't be back until Saturday evening. I'll write about when I get back. I probably won't have much else to say until then.
See you all in a week!

Summer at Last!
Now that I'm home, I've jumped right back into all that I do here. I spent the weekend staffing a camp for Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. Today, I start back at my job from last summer. I have CPR training this week Next week, I fly to Texas to visit family. I'll attend camp in June. Then back to school in August.
Sitting in front of my TV in my PJs is probably the most amazing thing I've done since last August. I appreciate it so much more this summer than last summer. Wow.
Don't forget to enjoy your summer!!!
